Canaanland draws from American music traditions of gospel, bluegrass, and old-time, collaging them in a way that is as much Morton Subotnick as it is Charles Ives. Will plays guitar, dobro, fiddle, organ, and banjo on the record, in an array of recordings made as far back as 2016 on a variety of media and with ample electronic manipulation. The results are a hypnotic blend of the traditional and experimental, with vibes to spare.
